Sending to Navigation Devices

Click on the action menu and select „Navigation“:

You can add a new geofence and send the geofence as order (together with exact location and short text) to a vehicle

Add Stop

Send a geofence area to the device

The geofence area must already exist

The center coordinate of the geofence will be the target

Sent stops will be stored on the server (up to 24 hours) until the navigation device finally can receive the message

Send Msg

Send short texts with answer options to the device

 

Sent messages will be stored on the server (up to 24 hours) until the navigation device finally can receive the message

Send Msgs to selectedSend a short text to all selected vehicles 

Sort Stops on Client

This command will sort the stops by using the navigation device.

Send Driver Statelist

A pre-defined status list is transferred to the device

The provider must configure the elements of the status list

Only works if navi is online

Send Quick Message List

A pre-defined list of canned quick messages is transferred to the device

Delete/Initialize

Deletes all elements

 Last Messages Menu

You can read all sent and received messages in the last message list.

 

Send new messages via e-mail to the asset

Alternatively to that, you can also send short messages via e-mail to the asset.
The driver can answer to these messages, max. length of these messages are 160-190 letters.

 

You can send the messages via e-mail to your navigation device (via GPS Tracking-device). Every single GPS Tracking device with a navigation interface has its own specified e-mail address, which consists of: IMEI@box.gpsfleetsoftware.com and looks like this for example: 354990041269433@box.gpsfleetsoftware.com).

 

The answers from the driver are sent as e-mails too.

Replies from the Navi (Driver)

The navigation device will show a „new mail“ symbol when it receives a new message. Click on the message symbol to read the new message:

 

 

 

The navigation device will show a „new flag“ symbol when it receives a new message. Click on the flag symbol to read the new stop:

 

 Edit stops on the Navi

Select the new stop out of the list and start with „Go!“

After reaching the stop you can change the status of the stop to „Finished“.

You can also delete all stops.

 

Green check: Finished Stop

White flag: Already used Stop

Yellow flag: New Stop

Answer Messages on the Navi

Select the message. You can also delete all messages.

 

 

Changing Driver Status on the Navi (Time Attendance)

Under „Driver Information“ you can first enter your driverID and then select different status types. Each status change will be confirmed back with a message by the software. The status list can be set in the activities under software options.

 

Quick Canned Messages on the Navi

The software can transfer quick canned messages to the navigation device:

Problems with the GPS Garmin connection

 

The red crossed sign on the top right means a connection failure.

Navi doesn’t receive any stops / any messages

Navi not connected, check:

-          Navi powered ON?

-          Navi connected with FMI cable and permanent power?

-          GPRS (mobile internet) must be available

-          Is there a connection error shown on the navi?

Disconnect the FMI cable, switch off the navi and then switch it on again, it should reboot and get the connection

 

Check if GPRS is available

Navi doesn’t send any messages

Navi not connected, check:

-          Navi powered ON?

-          Navi connected with FMI cable and permanent power?

-          GPRS (mobile internet) must be available

-          Is there a connection error shown on the navi?

-          Is the message still in the sending list?

Disconnect the FMI cable, switch off the navi and then switch it on again, it should reboot and get the connection
